Thunar freezes in Stretch In Debian Stretch, Thunar has an annoying bug. It randomly freezes after leaving a folder open for a long amount of time, especially if some other application changes files within the folder. The bug is well known and a simple fix exists (it is even mentioned in the bug comments), but the Debian maintainers don't seem to want to apply the fix to the stable release (which is currently not so stable, after all...) You can fix your installation yourself by downloading and installing the following three packages (to do so, use the following command:) `dpkg -i thunar_1.6.11-2_amd64.deb thunar-data_1.6.11-2_all.deb libthunarx-2-0_1.6.11-2_amd64.deb` thunar_1.6.11 amd64 armhf i386 thunar-data_1.6.11 all libthunarx-2-0_1.6.11 amd64 armhf i386 Note: Since the fixed packages are built from the official packages and use the same version numbering, it is very likely that further upgrades will work normally (the official thunar package from buster already contains the fix). Note: The armhf packages are intended for Raspbian installations.
